    FV Destination

The FV Destination sank yesterday 2 miles from St. George Island on the Bering Sea. 6 men were aboard.

CGC Morgenthau is on the scene and a fleet of boats aided by two HC-130 Hercules airplane crews, two MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crews, and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew.

Debris and an oil slick are all that has been found....no safety raft or survivors.

The search will continue until this evening Alaska time.

The life expected was 12.9 hours in the water in a safety suit.... they have exceeded that time at this point.

    Re: FV Destination

    the latest info...not official....

What is known is they had a full load of gear(pots) on the boat. It is believed that they built too much ice and rolled over. The time of the epirb signal was around 7 am, and that means the crew was possibly in their racks, sleeping on a run.

Prayers being said for all friends, family as well as the whole fishing community.....

    Re: FV Destination

What a horrible tragedy... This highlights how dangerous this job is and what these men are willing to do to provide for those they love.

My thoughts are prayers are with the men and families of the F/V Destination.
