Hey everyone!

I recently found an article regarding research from a biologist about why whales leap into the air.

It was very interesting.

The brief of it is that because sound travels faster than light under water when whales from one group of whales want to communicate with another over long distances they jump out of the water and crash back down creating a large boom noise that cuts through the rest of the noise going on under water.

It is a form of communication as well as being a fantastic spectacle for anyone lucky enough to witness.
