For all those wondering...

I've posted several threads asking various questions regarding crab fishing, but have yet to introduce myself. First of all, thanks to all of you who have given me your time by answering my questions. Much appreciated.

The purpose of me joining this forum, is that I'm gathering information for the book I am writing. In the last year and a half, I have had over thirty-five short stories published in various genres--sci fi, fantasy, horror, general fiction/literary. I am now working through my first novel, with the context taking place in and around Kodiak. Although the book is fiction, I want to be as realistic as possible.

For my own experience up there in Alaska, I worked summers out in Bristol Bay, back in the early 90's, as a cannery rat. I processed more red salmon than most people will ever see fish in their life time. I am aware of some of the hells, and brilliant wonders that Alaska offers.
