Hypothetical question, but could a crab fishing vessel, one the size of the Northwestern, actually lose all forms of communication? Say, in a nasty storm.
And if so, how could that happen? Could a main transmitter or antenna break?
Thanks

It actually did happen to Phil Harris's dad, Grant. Grant was the captain of the Golden Viking and the boat got slammed by a rogue wave. The wave busted out the wheelhouse windows and all that water came in and fried his electronics. They had actually given up on ever finding what happened to him when he brought the ship in two weeks after it happened.
