Norwegian Theater Company Portrays Hansen’s Life Story

Apparently back in 2010 “North by Northwestern” was used as a basis for a Norwegian theatrical script. Scenekraft's “Havet Har Meg” premiered April 14^th 2010 in Haugesund, Norway.

“The Ocean Owns Me” was Scenekraft’s first own play, telling the story of the last wave of emigrants from Norway to America. The largest group of migrants in Norwegian history were young men from postwar Karmøy. Most of them ended up in the American fishery. There are many parallels to Karmøy’s migration history, and many similar stories are still playing out today. Discovery Channel’s Sig Hansen (Deadliest Catch) in one of many examples.
